AEDM Day 30 … It’s Puzzling …

Well, to all my creative friends at Creative Every Day...we made it! Leah put us through our paces for yet another year. We mumbled and we grumbled at trying to post every single day but we did it and what a great creative exercise it is to stretch and challenge ourselves. If nothing else, it gets our muse out of hibernation and gets those juices flowing! Now it's time to dive into the holidays head first. Thanks to everyone who visited and made comments this month and for sharing your beautiful work. I really enjoyed seeing what you are up to. Hope we will stay in touch throughout the coming year and I wish you a great, creative one full of  good health and happiness. My post today is a little collage I did. I heavily textured a piece of watercolor paper with gesso and then painted it with deep, rich colored acrylic paints. On the back I traced puzzle pieces and then cut them out (it was hard cutting through the thickest part of the gesso). Then I painted with watercolors a contrasting background on another sheet of watercolor paper and affixed the puzzle pieces in a random pattern. I double matted the piece and framed it in a black metallic frame. It's puzzling, no?!!

It’s actually an incredibly lovely collage in a frame, Maron.

I had more trouble getting my photos loaded due to my slow computer and internet access than I had making the art. I grumbled at my computer, but I do that every day!

Hope you had a wonderful birthday. And I hope we don’t lose touch, either, especially since I miss visiting for 11 months of the year. Happy final AEDM.

Lovely artwork, and congratulations on making it to the end.

Hopefully I’ll make it here to visit a bit more frequently than once a year!
