AEDM Day 23… Snow Outside my Window

As I was having my morning coffee with the fur boys, fluffy flakes of snow began to glide past the patio doors prompting a poem:

Snowflakes outside my window. Winter's knocking at my door

There's a cozy fire in the hearth. Who could ask for more?

Wind blowing through the rafters makes a melancholy sound

but it really doesn't matter when the family gathers 'round.

A crunchy loaf is baked to enjoy with a savory pot.

The kettle's whistling on the stove. The soup is rich and hot.

Then it's off to bed with a story read and the kids all tucked in tight

for a sleep that's sound and a love that's found in your heart on a wintry night.

    Lovely words.

We had snow too. It lasted about 10 minutes before the rain took over 🙁

It’s still too warm here to snow, so I’ll just enjoy yours. That’s a beautiful poem, though, and so is the photo. Very appropriate.

You asked for us to share our craft room messes, so I did on my blog post.

Loved your poem and the photo — just took me right back to the wonderful snow days in my Kentucky childhood. I’m much happier in our non-snow California weather but the memories sure are good! Thanks for stopping by my blog !

This is such a heart-warming poem! I love it. It makes me feel cozy and safe. We haven’t had any more than a dusting of snow yet, which is unusual. Yesterday was 50 and today is going to be 60! I am looking forward to the kind of day in your poem! Thanks for sharing.
