Thank you Carolyn. It’s amazing the little details you keep putting in when you sketch while watching TV….it keeps my fingers out of the cookie jar…ha!
There is much about loneliness that is cherishable I have found. I have spent so much of my Life apart from and in recent years really on my own, save for my dog who is so much more than “just my dog.” [please don't tell her I referred to her so plainly!!]
As I look at your illustrations/interpretations I see the JOY of Solitude that is discovered in BEtween the harder parts. It is interesting to me, too, that in both illustrations you’ve shown something “larger than” the people, with the ocean and sun and the window BEyond which are so many wonderful possibilities to imagine!!
Glad I visited you from CED today. You made me remember what I’ve been forgetting all too much lately!!
Thank you for your thoughtful observation. I too can appreciate the true friendship of a dog who is more than a pet. Mine have always been just that. And what would we do without them when we are feeling apart and on our own? It is amazing that everyone sees something different that touches (or bothers) them in a painting or illustration but it’s always nice to know that, on some level, you are touching others. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Maron

Love all your details. The lines on the palm tree, the nails on the table, the frame of the mirror- fantastic!

The one of the little old lady in the rocker makes me happy and sad at the same time…
Awww…that’s sweet! That’s the nice thing about art…we can translate it in our own way, right?
